Zenith Purification LLC has been awarded its second research grant from the Department of Energy. Long-range marine transportation is crucial for international trade and the world economy; however, the carbon dioxide released from this industry represents about 3% of global man-made CO2 emissions. This project aims to conduct a conceptual design and feasibility study of an onboard carbon capture and storage system to decarbonize the long-range marine transportation industry.

Zenith Purification LLC joined Nanotechnology-Enabled Water Treatment (headquartered at Rice University) as an Industry member. Nanotechnology-Enabled Water Treatment (NEWT) is an interdisciplinary, multi-institution nanosystems-engineering research center whose goal is to facilitate access to clean water almost anywhere in the world by developing efficient modular water treatment systems that are easy to deploy, and that can tap unconventional sources to provide humanitarian water or emergency response.
